We stayed at a motel which was in a convenient location, close to the center of town and just a short drive from the airport. The room was spacious and had all the necessary facilities, including a well-equipped kitchen. it was a comfortable stay with good amenities and a convenient location.

The cleanliness of the bathroom could have been better, as some towels appeared to be worn-out.

Excellent selection of cable tv channels which the owner is very proud of :)

Free Wi-Fi was useful. Within walking distance Ruedis Cafe, where you can have lunch...

Avalon is a family run motel and you'll be greeted by a husband and wife team. While the room is decently big, the kitchen is tiny. Overall a quiet and clean environment with a 24 hour milk bar just next to the accommodation for convenience.

A bit run down on the outside but the renovated rooms compensated for the shortfall. Would do better if the rate can be adjusted down as similiar motels around are offering better price.

The location of this hotel was ideal, right in the center of town, making it easy to access all the attractions and amenities. The staff at this hotel were incredibly friendly and accommodating, going above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. The rooms were clean and comfortable, with an efficient heater to keep us warm during our stay.

No major issues or complaints, everything was satisfactory.

Having found a hotel next to the CBD in Christchurch for this value and especially after the disaster Christchurch was facing ,it`s a good deal.Kind regards Richard and all the best in the future for the City.

You have all you need and walking distans to towncenter

Spent Easter weekend here and had a great time! The staff were super friendly and always there to help. Loved the clean and comfortable rooms with kitchenettes! , the location was perfect for exploring and getting around - close to supermarkets, petrol stations, and restaurants. Plus, we loved how quiet it was, considering the busy area it was in.

The bathroom was a bit outdated, but it served its purpose for the price. , the wifi was only available for one device per room, which was quite inconvenient for our group.

Goo value for money and handy for public transport. Manager was very pleasant and cheery.

No notable negative aspects.

The staff were awesome. We were collected from the airport with no additional charge and the journey back to the hotel was full of lively chatter. They were always on hand to offer advice and tips and even took us to the bus stop in the early hours of the morning on the day of our departure to make sure we got there safe. The room was nice and clean and full of all the everyday essentials that we needed. It was the perfect place to rest and adjust to New Zealand time.

the facilities far exceeded our expectations and excellent value for money.the room was very comfortable and the owners were extremley kind and hospitable to us,would definately recomend this motel.

There was nothing to dislike

This is a decent motel - clean and friendly with good sized rooms. We had our own kitchen and plenty of space and a good nights sleep - easy walk to the centre of town.

Christchurch, sadly, is closed due to the earthquake - the entire city centre is still closed off and will be for months (years?) Some of the interior fittings are dated..but they staff are friendly, it is very clean, spacious and comfortable - happy to recommend
